Fire District 6 is a combination department, with Career and Volunteer personnel working together to provide outstanding service to our citizens. Applications are reviewed throughout the year to determine which applicants fit the needs of the district. Notifications are then sent out to qualified applicants informing them of the time and place for testing.
The basic eligibility requirements to apply for volunteer membership are:
- a minimum age of 18 years
- a high school diploma or GED
- a valid driver’s license
After initial screening, all applicants must complete the following:
- Written Exam (75.00% or better)
- Medical Exam
- Drug Screen
- Criminal Background Check

Volunteers are asked to make a two (2) year commitment to our organization. Some volunteers activities are reimbursed for expenses associated with their service to the District. Volunteer points are also earned through the program and can be redeemed for district clothing or personal equipment.
