A smattering of rain over the weekend has promted the Clark County Fire Marshal’s office to lift the early outdoor burning ban. The ban had focused on outdoor burning related to land clearing and didn’t impact recreational burning. The forecast of upcoming precipitation also played a role in lifting the burn ban.

A violent two-alarm fire ripped through an industrial building in Salmon Creek early this morning, destroying at least seven Clark County businesses. It’s hard to say goodbye, especially to someone you’ve worked with a long time. Now, imagine someone who’s worked in the same Fire District for 30 years–and it comes time to retire. It’s time for Captain Scott Taube to walk away from District 6, and we are going to miss him.
