Do you want to help a hard-working Clark County teen learn how to become a Firefighter? Well, this Saturday you’ll have your chance, as our Fire Cadets are fundraising at the Dutch Brothers at the corner of Hazel Dell Avenue and 99th Street. They’re raising money for thier annual educational trip to New York and Washington D.C. to learn about the history of firefighting in the US and tour some of the first-ever fire stations on the East Coast. Since they can’t legally use District funds for the trip they are raising their own money to afford to make the trip.
The Fire Cadet program at District 6 consists of 28 hard-working young people from school districts in Vancouver. It’s a two-year program through Cascadia Technical Academy with the goal of teaching students every aspect of Fire Science.
The students will be taking donations this Saturday, December 2nd, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dutch Brothers store at 99th Street and Hazel Dell Avenue.
