An off-duty District 6 Firefighter was first to notice and call in a raging fire on NE 127 Street Friday morning. Our crews plus firefighters from Vancouver Fire arrived to find the home fully involved, with a huge, dark plume of smoke visible from miles away.
The fire was called in shortly after 8 a.m. and under control at 9:14 a.m. While no one was home at the time, three dogs and two cats died in the fire. At the time of this article the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is still investigating the cause of the fire and damage estimate from the blaze. There are two adults and one child who live at the home, and the Red Cross was summoned to provide lodging and assistance.
Our hearts go out to the family who lost their pets and much of their possessions.
