Thanks to cooperative weather, large crowds, and hundreds of high school band members the 57th annual Hazel Dell Parade of Bands was a rousing success! The parade featured 25 local bands, parade floats and classic vehicles. This years’ theme was “Sounds of Freedom”, and the Grade Marshals were Lt. Colonel Bob Knight (ret.) and Lt. Colonel Royce Pollard (ret.), past commanders of Vancouver Barracks. The parade started in front of Station 61, and we also had our vintage fire engine as well as one of our brand new engines–quite a pretty sight! Our Firefighters representing IAFF 452 also marched to “Fill the Boot” for the Muscual Dystrophy Association.
