The results are in and we have a new fire prevention poster contest winner! Her name is Anika and she’s a student at Chinook Elementary. This years’ theme was “Every Second Counts, Plan Two Ways Out”, and over 100 students in four Vancouver elementary schools participated. There were 13 other winners in various catagories, and each gets a gift of art and/or drawing supplies. It’s not just about presents, either. The poster contest is an effective method to teach kids about fire safety. The contest is hosted by the Hazel Dell Salmon Creek Business Association, and has been going on for…well…no one’s completely sure, but we know it’s more than 30 years! Congratulations to this years winners, and we look forward to facilitating the contest next year!
