Smoke Detector and Neighbor Save Lives

A working smoke detector and vigilant neighbor are likely to have saved at least two lives over the weekend in Hazel Dell. Crews were called out to NE 80th street early Sunday morning to a fully engulfed two-story house. Reports say residents were awakened by a smoke detector and an alert neighbor helped two people make it to safety. The two suffered burns and were transported. The Clark County Fire Marshal continues to investigate a cause. A Go Fund Me account has been set up for the family. Click here to access that account.
