Due to retirements and increased staffing needs we will be hiring five lateral Firefighters/Paramedics/EMT’s. “Lateral” means that we’re looking for people who already have experience in the fire service, and are looking to relocate to another district or community. So, if you have freinds and family who are Firefighter/EMT’s or Firefighter/Paramedics and you’d like to see them back in SW Washington, let them know about the links in this story. A number of our recent new arrivals say they picked District 6 because we have all the latest tools and techniques, but we’re a small enough District where everyone knows each other. Applicants have to pass a Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT), however there is no written test requirement for the Lateral Entry Process.
